Heating
Comparison of the electricity consumption for the year ending March 2002 with that for the year ending March 2001 indicates a saving of 24,822 kWh, leading to a cost saving of £1,527 based on the electricity tariff in the year ending March 2001. (Comparison of the electricity costs for the two years indicates a higher cost saving of £2,307 due to reduced electricity tariffs).

An example of where savings have been made (ie there has been unusual usage of the utility are) is during the Christmas holidays the boiler room pumps and fans had been left running overnight whilst not required. By being noticed by the automatic utility auditing system a saving of £3,500 can be made per annum. This could not have been discovered from regular utility company billing and would have continued to cost the school.
